30; occasional nights/weekends for required community meetings On-call responsibility BASIC FUNCTION:
Complex Care and Special Programming Supervisor has responsibility to ensure shelter children and family's needs are being addressed within our shelter sites; focus on rapid rehousing of clients; development and oversite of special initiatives; and work with shelter staff on complex cases.
They intervene in client disputes while working with shelter staff and ensure communication with all parties.
They maintain a diverse portfolio of community resource connections by networking and attending community meetings in order to balance client needs.
Supervising the System Navigation and Child Advocacy team to be sure that client referrals are being made swiftly, ultimately reducing barriers to shorten length of stay.
Working with the VP of Shelter Programming and other key CMHA staff to identify and advocate for reduction in gaps of services within the community.
The supervisor works closely with staff on complex cases providing guidance and intervention in difficult cases.
They work with staff to develop action plans for clients struggling in the shelter and sustainability plans for clients challenged in finding a sustainable housing option.
Works with staff on intervention techniques that are consistent with the agency values.
Serves as a member of the on-call pool for shelter services.
The supervisor coordinates new/existing program initiatives working with partners and establishing implementation plans.
They maintain knowledge of CMHA's continuum of prevention and shelter, providing assistance to programs when needed and training staff on changes in the system.
They supervise the Child Advocates within the shelter to ensure that child services, special projects, and special programming are addressed, coordinated and monitored.
The supervisor monitors the average length of stay and works with cases exceeding the length of stay.
They represent the organization at state meetings as directed by the VP of Shelter Programming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1.
Supervise the Child Advocate and System Navigation team to ensure that all homeless child services and connectivity to community resources are happening swiftly and effectively for families served.
2.
Serves as the subject matter expert on complex cases leading case discussions and providing guidance and support to staff.
3.
Develop and maintain community resource relations including, but not limited to- schooling needs/McKinney Vento/specialized education plans, mental health services, recovery services/programs, budgeting program/aids, job readiness training skills, specialized housing programs to aid clients and supervisee relationships.
4.
Work with local partners to develop novel job readiness and housing interventions for homeless populations providing implementation leadership.
5.
Help to train direct care staff on best practices when intervening with client conflicts.
6.
Monitors average length of stay and placements developing plans to improve metrics if targets are not being met.
7.
Subject matter expert on the continuum of services available for homeless families from prevention through housing placement options, providing consultation and training to staff.
8.
Coordinates with leadership group to ensure services operate as one continuum.
9.
Represents the organization at outside meetings as assigned by VP of Shelter Services.
10.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in human services field with 5 years of experience working with homeless families.
Work experience can be substituted for a degree.
Five years of supervisory experience.
Five years experience working with complex cases involving homeless families.
Experience implementing new services/programs including contract negotiations and partnering with funding agencies.
Bilingual Spanish/Haitian Creole/French preferred Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
CPR/First Aid Certification Required Ability to work with electronic tracking systems.
Team player willing to assist in new programming.
Proficiency with Microsoft office.
